Simptoms

If you're seeing the error:

"Property values were not valid"
This typically occurs when HubSpot is expecting a picklist (dropdown) value for fields like State or Country, and the value UpLead sends (e.g., a code like CA instead of California) doesn't match what HubSpot allows.

What Causes This?

By default, UpLead sends country and state codes (e.g., US, CA, NY) to your CRM. However, some HubSpot fields—especially if configured as dropdowns, require full names (e.g., United States, California, New York).

When these don't match, HubSpot rejects the record and returns the "Property values were not valid" error.

How to Fix It

If you're encountering this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Open a support ticket with UpLead

  2. Include the following message in your request:

“I’m encountering validation errors due to state/country field mismatches. Please update my integration mapping to send country and state names instead of codes for the following accounts: *account emails here*.”

  3. Our support team will adjust your mapping configuration on the backend, and you’ll be able to export contacts successfully afterward.

Optional: Workaround

If you want to continue using exports before support adjusts your mappings:

  • Temporarily exclude the Country and State fields from your export:

    • Go to Profile > Customize Integration

    • Under the Company or Contact tab, uncheck Country and State

    • Click Save

Note: This skips those fields entirely in the export, which may not be suitable if your CRM requires them.
