Contact Enrichment: Enhancing Contact Details with UpLead

This guide explains how to enhance your contact details using UpLead's Data Enrichment feature.

Accessing the Enrich Menu

Data Enrichment with UpLead allows you to update and complete your existing contact database by appending missing or outdated information. This process ensures that your CRM remains reliable and current, providing your sales and marketing teams with the data they need to connect with prospects effectively.

To begin enriching your contacts:

  1. Navigate to the Enrich Section:

    • Log in to your UpLead account.

    • From the dashboard, click on the Enrich option.

  2. Choose the Data Type:

    • Upon clicking Enrich, you'll be prompted to select between Contacts and Companies.

    • For enriching contact details, select Contacts.


Preparing and Uploading Your Contact List

Before uploading your contact list for enrichment:

  1. Prepare a CSV File:

    • Create a CSV file containing the contacts you wish to enrich.

    • At a minimum, include the First Name, Last Name and Company URL columns

    • Make sure that the CSV file is saved in UTF-8 format

  2. Including additional fields such as LinkedIn URL, UpLead ID, or Email can help narrow down the search, especially if multiple contacts share the same name within a company.

  3. Using Custom Fields:

    • You can also use up to 3 Custom Fields to help narrow down the search for your contacts.

    • These custom fields can contain any other relevant data you have about your contacts, such as internal reference numbers, job titles, or any other identifiers that may aid in accurate matching.

  4. Upload the CSV File:

    • In the Enrich Contacts section, upload your prepared CSV file.

    • UpLead will use the provided data, including any custom fields, to match and enrich your contacts accurately.


Selecting Enrichment Preferences

After uploading your contact list:

  1. Choose Email Verification Type - Located at the bottom right of the page, select your preferred email verification option:

    • Valid Emails Only: Includes only emails that are strictly verified.

    • Valid and Accept All Emails: Includes all emails that are verified or accept all.

    • All Emails: Includes all emails

  2. Selecting the appropriate verification type ensures the quality and deliverability of the email addresses in your enriched data.


Initiating the Enrichment Process

To start the enrichment:

  1. Start Enrichment:

    • Click on the Start Enrichment button.

    • UpLead will process your contact list, gathering available data from its database and validating emails based on your selected preferences.

  2. Monitor Progress:

    • Once the process begins, you can monitor its progress in the Notification Area and Downloads section.

    • Upon completion, you'll receive a notification, and the enriched data will be available for download.


FAQs

Q: How many credits does it cost to enrich one contact multiple times?

A: Each time you run and download the enrichment for a contact, it will charge you 1 credit. For example, enriching the same contact three times will cost 3 credits. (support.uplead.com)

Q: What if a contact cannot be matched during enrichment?

A: If a contact cannot be matched in UpLead’s database, the corresponding credit will be refunded after the process is complete.

Q: Can I redownload the enriched file without using additional credits?

A: Yes, once the enrichment is complete, you can redownload the file as many times as needed without incurring additional charges.
