How to Use UpLead's Chrome Extension

This guide will walk you through the Uplead Chrome extension installation process and show you how to use it effectively.

Installing the UpLead Chrome Extension

Step 1: Download the Extension

  1. Visit the official UpLead Chrome Extension page using this link: UpLead - Chrome Extension.

  2. On the extension page, click the Add to Chrome button.

Step 2: Add to Chrome

  1. After clicking "Add to Chrome," a pop-up will appear asking for permission to add the extension. Click Add extension to proceed with the installation.

  2. The extension will automatically install, and you'll see the UpLead icon appear in your browser toolbar.

Step 3: Pin the Extension (Optional but Recommended)

  1. If the UpLead icon doesn’t appear in the top right corner of your Chrome browser, you may need to pin it:

    • Click the puzzle piece icon next to your profile avatar to open the Extensions menu.

    • Find the UpLead extension in the list.

    • Click the pin icon next to the UpLead extension to pin it to your toolbar for easy access.

Setting Up and Configuring the Extension

Step 1: Log In to Your UpLead Account

  1. After installation, click on the UpLead extension icon in your browser toolbar.

  2. You’ll be prompted to log in using your UpLead account credentials.

Step 2: Grant Necessary Permissions

  1. The extension may request permissions to access certain websites or data. Review and accept these permissions to ensure the full functionality of the extension.

Using the Extension for Lead Generation

Website Contacts View

When visiting a company’s website, open the UpLead Chrome Extension to view available firmographic data and a list of verified contacts associated with that company.
You can unlock the contact's email and phone number, and then export them to your CRM, download them as a CSV, or add them to a Contact List for later use.

LinkedIn Prospecting

  • Viewing LinkedIn Profiles: When browsing LinkedIn profiles, the UpLead extension icon will activate.

    • Verified email addresses will be displayed.

    • Direct phone numbers will be shown when available.

    • Employment history and current position details will be highlighted.

  • List building with LinkedIn search: When searching for People on LinkedIn you can view data that is on Uplead, unlock emails, phones and build Contact Lists for future unlocks.

CRM Integration

The UpLead Chrome Extension makes it easy to export leads directly to your CRM:

  • One-click export to popular CRMs like Salesforce, Zoho and Hubspot

  • CSV export for later use with offline prospecting

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Extension Not Appearing

If the UpLead icon isn’t showing up:

  • Go to the Extensions menu (puzzle piece icon) and locate UpLead.

  • Click the pin icon to make the icon visible in your toolbar.

Authentication Errors

If you're having trouble logging in:

  • Ensure you're using the correct UpLead credentials.

  • Try logging out and back in via the extension popup.

Data Not Loading

If prospect data isn’t loading:

  • Check your internet connection and ensure you have enough credits in your account.

  • Try refreshing the page or restarting the browser.

  • Regularly update the extension to access the latest features.

  • Use the extension alongside UpLead's web platform for the most effective lead generation strategy.
